Facial Massages by Japan WAO-1: Hi Tech Robot

WAO-1 -Japan Face Massaging Robot
Most of girls out there love facials, but what if the next facial you got was done by a hi-tech robot? In Japan, the technology to do this already exists thanks to the Tokyo’s Waseda University. The university developed WAO-1 (the Waseda Asahi Oral Rehabilitation) at the first place just for relieving the symptoms of disorders such as xerostomia, jaw arthritis and swallowing disorder. Treatments that apply “just the right amount of pressure” without excessive force have been realized by using existing technologies developed for robots according to the project leader Atsuo Takanishi, but is now being considered for beautician to use it in beauty spas.

Nissan’s Future Supercar: Skyline GTR 2009

The Legend is Real
Nissan Skyline GTR 2009 Sports Concept Car

Nissan’s Future Sports Car sometimes called Nissan Skyline GTR 2009 Concept Car. Now it’s time to take the Nissan Skyline GTR series (Skyline GTR 2009) back on the street-where it belongs!

The original model of Nissan Skyline GT-R might have be on the streets in 1969, but it wasn’t until 1990 that the GT-R legend would be solidified. That was the year the Skyline GT-R was introduced to an utterly stunned Japanese market. It was the first of three twin-turbocharged, all-wheel-drive and all-wheel-steering Skylines (R32, R33 and R34) and it’s the generation upon which the Skyline GT-R legend rests.

Initial speculation suggested that because this Skyline could cost as much as $70K-$80K it would be sold under the Infiniti nameplate in the U.S. With its debut scheduled for this fall’s Tokyo auto show, expect to see the Nissan Skyline GTR 2009 in showrooms in the spring of 2008.

Almost Ready To Hit The Street

Monkey’s Thoughts (Brains) Make a Robot Walk In Japan

Monkey Brains(thoughts) In U.S. Make a Robot Walk In Japan Recently the researchers at Duke University Medical Center have used a monkey’s brain activity (thoughts) to control a robot on the other side of the globe(US-Japan). In what researchers found as a first-of-its-kind experiment, monkeys’ thoughts in US controlled the real walking patterns of a robot in Japan (synchronization).

They can walk in complete synchronization,” said Dr. Miguel Nicolelis, who also is the Anne W. Deane Professor of Neuroscience at Duke. “The most stunning finding is that when we stopped the treadmill and the monkey ceased to move its legs, it was able to sustain the locomotion of the robot for a few minutes — just by thinking — using only the visual feedback of the robot in Japan.
