Putting Together Coolest Gaming Desktop
Thinking about putting together the coolest gaming desktop? The ongoing debate whether or not Razer is the top provider of gaming accessories is hard to follow and ultimately you’ll find that it all comes down to one thing; Are you or are you not a Razer fan?

Most hardcore gamers seem to think Razer knows what they’re doing but some still stick to other manufacturers. Like any other product out there, tech products receive scores from users and experts but how do you know who to trust? Do you want to be mainstream or do you strive to be different?

Looking at some different gaming mice and keyboards Razer is the most frequent manufacturer that pops up. Are they really that good or have they just succeded in their brand advertising? Usually it’s a a bit of both.

Posted by kento On September - 13 - 2008

Microsoft BlueTrack Technology Mouse
The big Apple’s not the only IT company out there that loves to announcing new products.

Last week, the giant IT company: Microsoft unveiled its new generation computer mouse: “BlueTrack” technology (via Engadget) that will be featured in two new upcoming mice, One the model is: Microsoft Explorer Mouse and the other is Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse. The new BlueTrack-powered technology utilizes wide-angle “specular optics architecture” to improve the mouse’s ability to work on rough or not-so-friendly surfaces, such as wood, granite, and carpet.

But this time, we’re not entirely sure how specular optics works, but this new features/technology sounds like it will be super useful to travelers or business people.

The Explorer Mouse will be retail at $99, while the Explorer Mouse Mini will retail at $79. This might be the hit for Best Buy in November. Beside that, all of the gamers must be waiting for the gaming version of this BlueTrack mouse from Microsoft. Maybe Intellimouse Explorer 3.0: BlueTrack Edition

So, do you have any suggestion or comments to Microsoft? Wanna say goodbye to laser mouse?

Apple's Mystery: MacBook Touch or Mac Tablet
There’s a tech rumors around us about a Mac tablet to get a gulp of oxygen after Apple executives revealed a hint at a “Future Product Transition,” followed by whispers of a “MacBook Touch” slated for the fall.

Apple tech rumor No. 1: Monday’s quarterly earnings report from Apple, during which CFO Peter Oppenheimer mentioned several times about a “Future Product Transition, which I can’t discuss it today.”

Of course, that touched off a frenzy of speculation, ranging from a revamp of the Apple MacBook and Apple MacBook Pro notebooks (rumors of which were recently fanned by purported spy shots of new casings) to the new Apple iPods, or even “a new form factor of devices that are smaller than a laptop but larger than an Apple iPhone,” as the New York Times put it.

Reviews: PC Keyboards For Your Typing Pleasure
Hello there, this time I would like to share some tips with you about the new computer’s keyboards. Here comes the three brand-new keyboards that are all worth to take a look at… and greatly recommended for you:

Type A: Razer Lycosa

Razer Lycosa KeyboardThis keyboard for gamers is slick as it gets. Completely black in color, with matte buttons covered with a rubber sheen that gives the button keys more grip than standard plastic keys. This Lycosa requires a quite amount of setup: 2 USB ports and 2 audio connections. Do you know why? Because there’s a passthrough USB and audio ports on the rear of this gaming keyboard, and also to power the backlighting on the keyboard. All the keys on the Lycosa light up, but it’s also dim: Unless you’re looking straight down on the Lycosa keyboard while you’re using it, it can be hard for you to find out what button you’re really pushing. Gamers can also set the WASD keys to be the only ones lit up. The Lycosa’s gaming keyboard can be just the thing for gamers who’re looking for that little tech-keyboard. Price= $80

AMD’s Quad Core Phenom: The Next Processing Power

Posted by kento On November - 22 - 2007

AMD's Quad Core PhenomIntel has been selling quad-core CPUs for what seems like ages now, with current products ranging from the Core 2 Q6600 up to the new QX9650. The latter is based on Intel’s new Yorkfield processor refresh at 45nm. AMD, then, is late to the quad-core party. Having just launched its new 4-core “Barcelona” Opteron processors for servers, AMD is now catching up on the desktop front with the same architecture for desktop chips.

These 65nm chips may lag a bit behind Intel in the “delivering quad-core to desktops” race, but they’re not without their own tricks. For starters, these chips are what AMD calls “True Quad Core,” meaning that a single piece of silicon contains all four cores. Intel’s quad chips actually contain two dual-core CPUs together in a single package.

Last week AMD invited some press to benchmark their new Spider platform, consisting of Phenom CPUs, 790-series chipsets, and the new Radeon 3800 series graphics cards (in configurations up to quad-GPU). We ran a few numbers, but we can’t consider this our formal review of the processor. The systems we tested were built and set up by AMD, and while we could poke around all we wanted, we don’t review chips unless we have full control of the testing environment.

The New HotSeats 723 Flight Simulator TRX Gaming Chair

Posted by kento On November - 20 - 2007

HotSeats 723 Flight Simulator TRX Game ChairHey man, there are gaming chairs, and there are gaming chairs. This particular one, known as the HotSeats 723 Flight Simulator TRX Game Chair might very well be the ultimate.

It really has it all. It comes packed with a great 23-inch HDTV widescreen LCD monitor as well as a high performance 1.8 GHz Dual Core processor PC. Also with the PC is a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. As for the sound, it’s also covered with Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound speakers and a subwoofer unit. This speaker system supports up to 3 devices such as DVD, MP3, or old-school VCR.

The stereo also has a remote control, which i think it’s not a must for it. After all, aren’t you sitting up close to it anyway?

As for the frame itself, it is made of welded steel and has an aluminium frame. It comes in three colors and has a cupholder plus swing-away console. Apparently you can fold up the Game Chair for easy storage, and you can even detach the equipment for other uses.

You should be able to pick up the HotSeats 723 for about $5635. That may sound expensive, but other sources have said you can end up paying up to $8,049 for this. That’s a pretty high price to pay for playing the new Flight Simulator game in all its glory. By the way, Flight Simulator comes pre-loaded onto the equipment.

The Vigor Gaming Stealth NE Desktop

Posted by kento On October - 26 - 2007

Vigor Gaming StealthLots of gaming desktops come tricked out with LED lighting, but Vigor’s Gaming Stealth NE is one of the few machines that makes those lights an integral part of the design. The Gaming Stealth NE’s case and fan lights, which play beautifully off the clear-plastic case, show that Vigor understands how gamers frequently play: in the dark.

Key Specs

Processor: 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo E6600 (overclocked to 2.82GHz)
Memory: 2GB DDR2
Storage: Two 250GB hard drives (RAID 0)
Optical Drives: Double-layer DVD±RW with LightScribe
Monitor: None
Graphics: Two Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2600XT cards (256MB, CrossFire)
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium

But this desktop is more than just good looks. It’s also a surprisingly powerful machine—and at a price of $1,299, you don’t need to be a Plexiglas heir to afford it. With a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor overclocked to 2.82GHz, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, two 250GB hard drives in a RAID Level 0 configuration, and two 256MB Sapphire Radeon HD2600XT cards set up in a CrossFire dual-card arrangement, there’s a lot of gaming potential to be found here.

Right out of the box, the Gaming Stealth NE cuts an impressive figure. The components are completely visible through the clear-plastic case, letting you see what’s going on inside without opening the side panel. Turn on the power, and watch how the blue LEDs strewn about the case intermingle with the green, red, and orange lights on the many fans—imagine the Northern Lights in a box.

The Gaming Stealth NE fared quite well in our performance tests, delivering a score of 8,845 at a resolution of 1,280×1,024 in Futuremark 3DMark06 and a score of 7,201 at 1,600×1,200. In Company of Heroes, it delivered an average of 87.2 frames per second (fps) at 1,280×1,024 and 57.5fps at 1,600×1,200. Frame rates dropped considerably at 2,560×1,600, so we don’t recommend playing most games at that resolution, at least with all the 3D detail settings cranked up. Our 1,280×1,024 Supreme Commander test netted frame rates of just under 30fps—playable, but not tremendously exciting.
