Nintendo announced that the wireless balance board accessory for the gaming console Nintendo Wii finally has a North American release date which is May 19. Get ready to workout those abs.

The Nintendo Wii Fit bundle pack (Disember in Japan) will sell for $89.99, it’s not exactly cheap gaming accessories, but at least it’ll bundled with a battery of exercises—including yoga, aerobics, training for strength, and balance—that’ll surely get you off the couch and will make you sweat.

IGN (via Yahoo! Games) has a thorough reviews of Nintendo Wii Fit, but here’s the main points for the Nintendo Wii Fit pack: You’ll get the wireless, plastic balance board (which, supports a whopping 660 pounds, although it stops measuring over 330 pounds) including the battery of 40 mini-games, exercises and training.

Packing inside: strength-training exercises, plus a push-up/yoga combo (sounds difficult huh!), single-leg extensions, arm/leg lifts, a variety of squats and lunges, and side planks (wow!). There’s also some of aerobic action, including steps, runs, and rhythm boxing (great!). Then there’s the yoga, complete with your standard deep breathing, half moons, a potpourri of poses, just name it.

What makes Nintendo Wii Fit more fun than your standard exercise DVD or CD is the on-screen trainer (either male or female) who will critiques your form and doles out encouragement, as needed.

For sure, the greatest element of Nintendo Wii Fit is the Wii-wireless balance board, which incorporates two plastic pads and one for each foot—which is precisely can measure you weight and balance.

From the demos, Wii-wireless balance does an uncanny job of detecting your overall stance and posture; indeed, based on your weight and balance, it’ll compute your body mass index (BMI) and tell you if you’re overweight, underweight, or just right. The Nintendo’s Wii Fit software will also track your daily BMI and tell you the progress over time. For all these, it’s not such a bad thing, considering that you’re playing a video game.

The Nintendo Wii Fit demo during last year’s E3 gaming conference looked pretty great; as example the soccer ball head-butting game, which lets you (natch) head-butt a torrent of virtual soccer balls, all from the comfort of the balance board—it’s so nice.

So, who out there’s looking forward to buy a Nintendo Wii Fit? Keep your body fit!

This made it officially the most expensive gaming console compared to the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Now that we’re a little more than a month away from this year’s busiest shopping season, lets see what new announcements have been made regarding prices and release dates for these three gaming devices.

Playstation 3: Sony will release its much anticipated Playstation 3 in the United States on November 17, and the good news is that the price has dropped in Japan to $410, which could only be a good sign for U.S. gamers. The price drop announcement was made following Microsoft’s HD DVD upgrade, and price announcement at the Tokyo Game Show 2006. Sony will only deliver two million consoles, instead of the four million it planned to launch in the U.S. and Japan, so expect a shortage. Unfortunately, U.S. gamers still have to wait on the final price of the PS3.

Xbox 360: As you know, Microsoft will roll out an external HD DVD player for Xbox 360 that will play high-definition movies, and a price of $170 has already been announced in Japan. The company also plans to release a software upgrade that can handle a 1080p resolution, and over 100 high-definition games, according to Newsfactor. Pricing and availability have not been announced in the U.S.

Nintendo Wii: Despite the lack of fancy HD technology, Nintendo is expected to outsell Sony’s Playstation 3 this season due to its low-price of $249, and innovative controller. Release date for the Nintendo Wii is November 19.

So, which one you will buy? I’m a big fans of Sony, exactly PS3 for me!

Market research firm Media Create has revealed data for weekly hardware sales in Japan for the week ending November 18th, following details of the software top thirty. With last week’s hardware sales results only covering the first few days of the PlayStation 3’s price cut, and the launch of the 40GB model, Sony’s next generation console has beaten both the Wii and Xbox 360 for the second week running.

Despite continued strong sales of Dynasty Warriors 6, though, overall sales did slip, by over 16,500 units, to 39,178. The Nintendo DS remained the number one selling console of the week though, with sales down by almost 3,000 units to 76,084.

The PSP however saw sales rise by over 6,500 units to a total of 65,609. As ever, though, there was little or no correlation between PSP hardware and software sales, with not a single PSP game in the top twenty – the highest ranked being Hudson’s PC Engine remake Dungeon Explorer at number twenty-four. Given the sales of the lowest ranked title in the software top ten (the only titles for which figures are given) the game likely recorded sales well below 10,000 units.

Despite the success of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Wii sales rose by under 2,000 units to 36,230. PlayStation 2 sales remained below the 10,000 mark for a second week, almost unchanged at 8,855 units. The Xbox 360 rallied by a few hundred units to 6,525, while the Game Boy Advance family of consoles dropped to 262 units.
