Microsoft Xbox Video network has been around since about 18 months ago and Apple has its own Apple-TV, but for Sony and its Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) have remained left behind the curve in aspects of downloadable movies, TV episodes and video files. Because of that, Sony execs promise to get with the program “very soon,” just around the corner; according to some blog posts.
I’ve found the blog entry from Sony SVP Peter Dille, which he promises about offering a video service for PS3 in a way that separates the service from others you’ve seen or used, although he adds that he has no any new announcements about such service.

According to the official Sony Playstation blog, they’re about to fix one of the major complaints about Sony Playstation 3 as a Blu-ray(BD-player) player that is the PS3 can’t handle the bit-for-bit DTS-HD Master Audio format.
Firmware update v.2.30, which will arrive soon enough, according to Sony representative, will at last add support for DTS-HD Master Audio—a “lossless” audio format that can delivers a bit-for-bit reproduction of the studio master soundtrack—to the Sony Playstation 3’s Blu-ray disc player. The Sony Playstation 3 already supports the Dolby TrueHD(True Hi-Definition), a competing lossless audio format.

The new ultra-portable Sony Vaio VGN-TZ195N/XC notebook PC comes with just 2.7 pounds in weight, it offers a sleek, durable carbon-fiber case in charcoal black and a unique rounded hinge design. (Carbon fiber, the same material used on jets and sports cars to keep them lightweight yet sturdy, is much stronger-durable than the magnesium used on standard laptops.) With 4 to 8 hours of standard laptop battery life, it has the stamina to power you through your most frequent used super-applications. The VAIO TZ195N/XC also includes a newly redesigned keyboard that balances a smart, sophisticated look with user-friendly touch and feel, and an 11.1-inch LCD using Sony’s XBRITE-HiColor technology with an energy-saving white LED backlight for brilliant colors and added clarity.

In the next Sony Playstation 3 firmware update, it will allow the Sony PlayStation 3 to play upcoming “BD-Live” Blu-ray discs, this will make Sony PlayStation 3 an even greater for Blu-Ray device bargain in the market than it was before or at least until prices for stand-alone players start falling down.
The upcoming Sony PlayStation 3 firmware update ver: 2.20, which is due before the month is out, will let you access the great downloadable function, Net-enabled features and widgets that come with the latest Blu-ray movies recently. The newest Blu-ray specification such as the Net-related features (as known as BD-Live) is only available on a handful of upcoming Blu-ray players.

For the second month in a row, the Sony Playstation 3 beats the Microsoft Xbox 360 in aspects of monthly sales. Is this the time for Sony Playstation 3 to take the lead of new generation gaming consoles?
Ars Technica got its hands on the latest sales figures for gaming consoles, and the numbers speak for themselves. The Nintendo Wii, as usual, trumped its console competition with 432,000 units sold in February while the handheld Nintendo DS got an amazing 597,000 units sold, beside that the PlayStation 2—still quite a hit with senior gamers, apparently—came in at an impressive 351,800 units sold. Absolutely. no shockers there.

Since 2006, Sony launched Mylo (typically written as “mylo”), a PDA of sorts with a slide-out keyboard and a landscape screen, designed for teens and youngsters primarily as a portable IM (instant messenger) device. With its rounded design and bright orange color scheme, there was no confusion about the target market. But Mylo wasn’t just a Sidekick knockoff. Namely, it wasn’t a phone at all. Mylo used Wi-Fi to access the internet instead of the cell phone network, though Skype was available if you really needed to make a call (and were near a hotspot).
