I would like to share some tips here about how to shut down your laptop the right way. Here are the quite popular steps you need to take note to properly shut down the Windows and turn off your laptop when your work done:



1. Please save all your work and close all opened & running programs.

The normal Save command is Ctrl+S. The command to close most windows is Ctrl+W, but you sometimes need to use the ‘force’ method that is Alt+F4.

2. Now click the Start button.

Will pop up the Start menu thing.

From this point, things are different between Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP. If your laptop uses Windows Vista, go on to Step 3a. If you have Windows XP, skip to Step 3b.

3. a. In Microsoft Windows Vista, click the right-pointing triangle next to the padlock icon.

A pop-up menu will appears with various shutdown options. Now go to Step 4a.

3. b. In Microsoft Windows XP, just simply click the Turn Off Computer button.

A colorful Turn Off Computer box-thing appears. Now skip down to Step 4b.

4. a. Choose the Shut Down menu item.

4. b. Click the Turn Off button.

The laptop now turns itself off.

Yes, now you’re good to go: The laptop turns itself off. When the screen goes dark and the power lamp is dimmed, you can shut the laptop’s lid and put away the laptop.

Microsoft Windows XP offers you a cancel button so that you can change your mind before Step 4. In Microsoft Windows Vista, choosing the Shut Down menu item immediately shuts down the computer - unless you still have unsaved files, in which case, you have an opportunity to save them before the laptop shuts down

  Oh i know.. there’s another Quick Shutdown Right Away Simple,
  Set your computer on Control Panel > click on Performance n maintainance (for category view) then Power Option or just click Power Option (if ure using classic view) next click on Advanced Tab,
  Take alook at the Power Buttons u’ll see “When i press the power button on my computer” Choose option “Shut Down” it makes simple.. so whenever u want to shut down… just hit the power button.. windows will immediately shut off~
